Living the Charism, Reforming the Care: Catholic Care for Children in Eastern Africa
Living the Charism, Reforming the Care: Catholic Care for Children in Eastern Africa
Webinar
The world is awakening to the importance of reforming the care provided to children and vulnerable adults, with a growing focus on factors that contribute to human flourishing. This evolving trend signifies a shift from institutional care approaches towards embracing family and community-based care models. In recent years, congregations of religious women and men have come together to advance care reform in a more concerted and collaborative way.
The basis of this webinar is a comprehensive study- “Regional Portrait” conducted on the work of Catholic Care for Children in Eastern Africa. This portrait describes growing efforts, led by women and men religious, to ensure children can grow up in safe, nurturing families or family-like environments rather than institutions.
