We invite you to participate in the first of a 3-part series of input, discussion and sharing on the topics related to Synodality and the October 2023 Synod Assembly.

The Synod Assembly will engage the areas of Communion, Participation and Mission. This first session would be on the first topic of Communion.

The session will offer:

brief overviews about synodality and the synod,
a panel on the first major area, Communion,
a beginning experience of Conversation in the Spirit for participants.

Questions for reflection as you anticipate our first session are the questions from the first part of the Instrumentum laboris and for the October Synod.

A Communion that radiates: How can we be more fully a sign and instrument of union with God and of the unity of all humanity?

Further questions include:

How does the service of charity and commitment to justice and care for our common home nourish communion in a synodal Church?
How can a synodal Church make credible the promise that “love and truth will meet” (Ps 85:11)?
How can a dynamic relationship of gift exchange between the Churches grow?
How can a synodal Church fulfill its mission through a renewed ecumenical commitment?
How can we recognise and gather the richness of cultures and develop dialogue amongst religions in the light of the Gospel?
