Announcement of the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus

As part of the "Sowing Hope for the Planet" campaign launched in 2018 by the U.I.S.G. (International Union of Superiors General) we, Daughters of Jesus and Associates, continue to be aware of our personal responsibility and as a Religious Family, to safeguard our common home.

During our General Chapter in July 2022, challenged by our charism: "Honouring the Sacred Humanity of the Son of God", we took a decision to publicly commit ourselves towards integral ecology.

Committment:

Overwhelmed by the cries of the earth and of the poor, jostled by Pope Francis’ call to reawaken our prophetic mission,

Faithful to our charism of Honoring the Sacred Humanity of the Son of God in each human being and in all of Creation,

Called to join in praise, wonder and thanksgiving for all that is beautiful and good around us,  

Together and with others, we, Daughters of Jesus, and Associates, commit ourselves to go further in our response to the call of Laudato Si’:

• By rooting ourselves in our incarnational spirituality that nourishes our faith and our action toward an ecological conversion.
• By collaborating with people and organizations committed to a fair, ethical, and interdependent economy.
• By living a common project – Daughters of Jesus and Associates, concerning water.
• By adopting a simpler lifestyle. 
• By developing an integral ecological education through all that we do and from our different situations.
