Liaison and Advocacy Officer (Full Time—Brussels Based)

 

Africa Europe Faith and Justice Network (AEFJN) is a faith-based international network present in Africa and Europe to promote economic justice between the European Union (EU) and sub-saharan Africa. The Secretariat work involves research, lobby, advocacy, grass root movement building and publications. AEFJN currently focuses on Food Sovereignty, particularly land grabbing and access to resources for family farmers, Corporate impunity & Justice and other Justice issues in the EU-Africa Economic relation.

 

Job Description: Liaison and Advocacy Officer (Full Time)

1 - Operationalize AEFJN advocacy plan in collaboration with antennae, members, partners and allies
2 - Participate in the development of the AEFJN Strategic plan and in the yearly assessment and planning of activities
3 - Implement and/or Coordinate as appropriate, specific project initiatives of AEFJN or with her partners.
4 – Linking church and non-church actors in Africa working in the area of food sovereignty and land grabbing (corporate capture and impunity) with a special focus on OLOL platform and other platforms of interest to AEFJN
5 – Liaise and collaborate with EU and international based CSOs to support African driven advocacy (Brussels Land Working Group, Coalition against Hunger, Global Campaign for the Binding Treaty)
6 - Strengthen the relations between AEFJN and the Institutional Church structures in Africa.
7 – Build a network of friends of AEFJN / non-Church Actors and State institutions
8 – Assist in the production of training and education materials for the antennae and members Congregation
9 - Assist with collection of relevant materials for the production of Newsletter and updating of Website; and the writing of semi-annual report
10 - Takes up other tasks including administrative tasks as may be assigned by the Executive Secretary.
