From May 26 to June 2, 2024, UISG held the Second Symposium of Women Religious Theologians in Nemi (Rome, Italy).

Designed as a platform for women religious theologians, the symposium aimed to nurture theological reflection on religious life by making it contextual and practical.

We asked some participants to share a personal reflection on the symposium through both video and written interviews.

Below, we present the one by Sister Christiane Baka, Superior General of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Peace.

"I'm passionate about placing women on their own feet, the question of how to place women at the center, because I believe that God created us, men and women, in his image and likeness, so that women say something about God and God says something to women and about women.

So, how does woman, in her being, translate into aspects what God is? I find the answer in the question of mercy [...].

In the Church, women have something special to contribute.

I think, for example, that today, with all the problems that are weakening the Church, women as mothers can put the Church at the center, because they take care of people and the Church."
