Message from Father David Gentry - Mission Promoter, Solidarity with South Sudan

Greetings, Superiors General and Congregational Leaders, from the Mission Promotion Office of Solidarity with South Sudan!

I write to inform you of some our pressing needs for religious personnel in Solidarity:

• Good Shepherd Peace Center, Kitt

Chaplain/Spiritual Director/Retreat Leader.  This position is not necessarily a full time task.  The person occupying it could combine it another project, writing or doing spiritual direction with clients in other areas via zoom, etc.

We need someone with experience in this area, and someone who has or is willing to develop an understanding of the spiritualities of African women and men religious.   This might be an ideal position for a mature religious Sister who is looking for an important ministry, but one that would not entail a full-time commitment.

We also need someone with experience in the area of Trauma healing and counseling, a major need in South Sudan.

• Solidarity Agricultural Project, Riimenze

We need a religious who can take responsibility for supervising and staffing a kindergarten.

We need an agronomist, someone who can supervise and provide vision and direction for the Agricultural Project.

• Catholic Health Training Institute, Wau

We are in need of a Nurse Tutor who can staff some of the courses at the Institute.

• Solidarity Teacher Training College, Yambio

We are in need of a Director for our In-Service Teaching Training Programs.  The ideal candidate would be experienced in working with adults and experienced teachers, in giving vision to the program and in guiding the team of instructors.  This person would work from a base, perhaps CHTI in Wau, with a flexible schedule, traveling to various locations to deliver In-Service Programs.   would also like a Director for our inservice programme.
