Nominate for the Sisters Anti-Trafficking Awards 2024 (SATAs)
Promoted by Arise, UISG, and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the Sisters’ Anti-Trafficking Awards (SATAs) is the annual award celebration of three sisters, as representatives of their congregations and networks, who have demonstrated exceptional courage, creativity, collaboration and achievement in the protection of their communities from human trafficking.
Do you know any sister who is actively engaged in the fight against human trafficking and exploitation? You can nominate her by January 10 to receive one of the three SATAs on the official website.
SATAs Objectives:
- To raise the profile of the phenomenal contribution of Catholic Sisters against human trafficking
- To share knowledge and foster further collaborative anti-trafficking efforts between congregations and across the anti-trafficking sector as a whole
- To broaden and deepen the protection of communities vulnerable to trafficking worldwide
The 3 awards are as follows:
- The Common Good Award – For courage and creativity in addressing exploitation.
- The Servant Leadership Award – For excellence in network-building.
- The Human Dignity Award – For lifetime achievement in addressing exploitation.
It is a great opportunity to make the phenomenal work of the sisters known worldwide. Furthermore, the SATAs foster the sharing of good practices and encourage further anti-trafficking efforts on a global scale. The selected laureates will be welcomed at the award ceremony happening in Rome on 23 May 2024.
Please feel free to nominate any sister whose anti-trafficking commitment should be recognized according to you. The nomination form is available in English, French, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish, and you may find it here.
