Hope opens paths of resurrection

Hope opens paths of resurrection

As announced in recent weeks, the XXIII UISG Plenary Assembly will be held from 5 to 9 May 2025 in Rome at the Ergife Palace Hotel and the theme chosen is ‘Consecrated Life: a hope that transforms.'

We asked the sisters for a personal reflection on the theme of hope: what does ‘hope that transforms’ mean? How does hope transform the sisters' daily lives? What are their hopes related to the upcoming Assembly?

We share with you the testimony of Sr. Agnès GRANIER, Superior General of Sisters of Saint Andrew.

Hope that transforms

Hope is a gift, a grace to be asked for. Hope is founded on two principles:

  • Hope is not just words, but deeds.
  • Hope is communicated: the person who hopes lets his or her hope overflow to others; we all receive from others their overflow of hope.

(Contemplation to obtain hope - freely inspired by ad amorem, Spiritual Exercises n° 230-231)

How does hope transform my daily life?

"Since the day blood was shed, you know full well that all is grace" (Didier Rimaud) Where there is no hope, there is confident expectation. At the heart of the Paschal Mystery, I hear Christ say to me: "If you are at a dead end, if life is destroyed, if evil is at work... come, follow me. Come through with me. I am the Living One, the Risen One". Hope opens up concrete paths to resurrection.

My hope for the next UISG General Assembly?

That together we may receive the grace of hope.

That we can discern in a renewed way and communicate how "following Christ in consecrated life" is a sign of hope today.

May we find concrete signs to tell the world, with others, of our hope that is transforming the world.
