We communicate the heart of Religious Life
We communicate the heart of Religious Life
On January 24th, day in which we remember St. Francis de Sales, UISG launched the topic, graphic materials, and the agenda for the events in preparation of the First International Meeting for Communication in Religious Life.
The Meeting will take place uniquely online from November 27th to November 30th, 2023.
The title we chose for the program is “Communicating Religious Life”, whereas our slogan will be “At Your Word we will cast the nets. We will tell the whole world about You.”
In one of the reflexions offered during the launching webinar, Dr. Paolo Ruffini, Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, shared: "Religious women (and also religious men of course) can help the whole Church to weave through communication a network that is not only content to connect, but that translates the Gospel message into the multimedia world without erasing the histories and cultures of each country and the specificity of each language."
Our invitation to take part in November's Meeting is addressed not only to consecrated men and women, but also to lay people who, taking up the congregations' charism, communicate their mission putting their professional skills to good use.
The International Meeting's vision states:
We communicate the heart of Female Religious Life.
We share our spirituality, charism and mission as well as our commitment to create a more fraternal, just, and peaceful world, working especially with the most vulnerable people.
Keeping in mind the vision, we identified four main goals of the November Meeting:
- Nurturing the Culture of Communication
- Mapping the Communication Reality of Religious Life
- Strengthening Network and Collaboration
- Enhancing Communication Skills
In preparation for the Meeting, the UISG will offer a number of formation courses and initiatives.
The key events are:
- Course in Social Media Evangelization, organized in collaboration with IMisión and Católicos en Red, begining on February 17th;
- Meeting with the Superiors General and Councils in May;
- Forum with the press, scheduled for September;
- Forum with young sisters taking care of communication, planned for October.
In order to respond in the best way possible to your needs and make sure the training days in November will be helpful for you, we created the Padlet.
Through this tool, you can let us know which questions and topics in the communication field you would like us to address during the International Meeting. Your suggestions are essential to us, please, don't hesitate to contribute!
