The Pope's Video: Using New Technologies for the Service of the Person

Pope Francis invites us to reflect on the use of new technologies, so that they "do not replace human relationships, respect the dignity of people, and help address the crises of our time." In his video message for the month of April, the Pope emphasizes that technology, while being a gift of intelligence given to us by God, must be used responsibly.

"If we spend more time on our phones than with people, something is wrong," says the Holy Father, highlighting the risks of social isolation and the lack of authentic interactions. Technology should not benefit only a few but must be put at the service of all, especially the most vulnerable, the sick, and those living on the margins of society.

In an era where economic and social inequalities continue to grow, Pope Francis calls us to use technology to unite, to fight poverty, and to promote a culture of encounter and solidarity.

The Pope urges us to "look less at screens" and "look more into each other's eyes," because only then can we discover what truly matters: "we are brothers, sisters, children of the same Father."

Let us join his call, so that the use of new technologies may contribute to building a more just and fraternal world.
