In the acceptance speech, sr. Wakahiu said: "I accept this award in honor of so many Catholic sisters across the globe who are doing remarkable transformative work in underserved and marginalized communities. "These women are silently going about their work, making a difference one life at a time, under very challenging circumstances." This is very true indeed. I salute Conrad Hilton Foundation through ACWECA with the programs under ASEC which have empowered many of our Sisters on the Continent through education initiatives. I believe that education is a key to development and meaningful evangelisation.
