A 30-Day Social Media Campaign by Catholic Care for Children International, Advocating Every Child's Right to a Loving Family

Catholic Care for Children International, alongside partners from Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, and Sri Lanka, launched a compelling social media campaign from October 20th to November 20th, 2023. This united effort aimed to highlight the significance of World Children's Day and underscore the essential message that Every Child Deserves a Family for their well-being and development.

The initiative united diverse cultures, experiences, and narratives under the common theme of Children Deserve Families. As part of the Union of International Superiors General (UISG) in Rome, Catholic Care for Children International serves as a beacon of hope, reaching beyond geographical boundaries.

The collaboration with Catholic Care for Children in Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, and Sri Lanka was not just about combining resources but amplifying local voices and experiences. Each unit's videos, jingles, and flyers showcased the importance of family for children's development and highlighted how CCC partners are achieving this goal. Country Coordinators, dedicated staff, trained student sisters, a UN representative, members of the academic community, and esteemed church authorities were all integral parts of this social media campaign.

By strategically aligning with World Children's Day on November 20th, the campaign gained heightened visibility and significance. It served as a prelude to this special day, generating awareness that transcended borders. Beyond celebrating children's resilience and potential, it emphasized that ensuring a stable and loving family for every child is a shared responsibility.

Although the social media campaign has concluded, the mission to secure every child's right to a family persists. The momentum from the collaboration and shared digital spaces has laid the foundation for ongoing advocacy. The call to action extends beyond the campaign period, inspiring individuals, communities, and policymakers to actively contribute to creating a world where every child's dream of a loving family becomes a reality.

The collaborative spirit demonstrated by Catholic Care for Children units in Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, and Sri Lanka was exceptional.
