The International Network of Consecrated Life Against Trafficking in Persons

The name of the project comes from the biblical phrase " Talitha Kum. Young girl, I say to you, arise!" (Mk. 5:41).

These words invite the networks to remain close to the victims and survivors of human trafficking.

We take care of humanity wounded by exploitation and we act against inequalities caused by economic and cultural systems.

Formally established in 2009 as an international initiative against human trafficking and exploitation, Talitha Kum is organised in 60 local networks in nearly 90 countries, actively supporting victims, survivors and people at risk.

Each network of Talitha Kum maintains its unique identity and operates within its own country or region, while the Coordination Committee of the UISG supports the development of skills and the formation of networks and members, facilitating the sharing of information, resources and experiences.

Talitha Kum Mission is to end human trafficking through collaborative initiatives focused around prevention, protection, social reintegration and rehabilitation of survivors, partnership and advocacy, promoting actions that affect the systemic causes.

We coordinate the anti-trafficking efforts of the nuns, facilitating networking, communication and formation, according to the strategic plan of the UISG and the teachings of the social doctrine of the Catholic Church.
