Jubilee 2025: The Calendar of Events for the Holy Year

The Jubilee of 2025 is anticipated as a time of grace and spiritual renewal that will embrace the entire ecclesial community. The opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter's Basilica, scheduled for December 24, 2024, will officially mark the beginning of this extraordinary event.

In his bull of indiction, Spes non confundit, Pope Francis has invited the faithful to live this Holy Year as "a special occasion of personal renewal and spiritual enrichment, in union with the whole Church."

The symbol of the Holy Door, rich in meaning, will become a visible reminder of every believer's pilgrim status: "Passing through it," the Pope emphasized, "reminds us that we are all on a journey, called to a deeper relationship with the Lord and openness to His grace, capable of transforming our lives and the world."

Following the opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter's, the Basilica of St. John Lateran will have its Holy Door opened on December 29, 2024, followed by St. Mary Major on January 1, 2025, and St. Paul Outside the Walls on January 5, 2025. These moments will mark the beginning of a spiritual journey with global participation.

The Jubilee events reflect the diversity and richness of the universal Church. From January 24 to 26, 2025, the Jubilee of Communication will open a reflection on the mission of the media in building bridges of dialogue and peace. In February, artists and armed forces will have their special moments, while March will feature volunteers and the Missionaries of Mercy, focusing on divine mercy.

In April, the world of healthcare, youth, and people with disabilities will be at the center, offering a strong sign of inclusion and hope. May will involve families, children, and grandparents, highlighting the importance of passing on faith across generations.

In the summer, on July 28 and 29, digital missionaries and Catholic influencers will have a dedicated moment, followed by a large youth gathering from July 28 to August 3. With the autumn resumption, September 15 will celebrate the Jubilee of Consolation, followed by the Jubilee of Justice Operators on September 20 and the catechists' meeting from September 26 to 28.

October will feature events for the missionary world and migrants on October 4 and 5, consecrated life on October 8 and 9, and Marian spirituality on October 11 and 12.

Education will be the focus from October 31 to November 2. November will offer moments of great spiritual intensity, such as the Jubilee of the Poor on November 16 and that of choirs and chorales on November 22 and 23.

On December 14, the year will symbolically close with an emotional celebration dedicated to prisoners, a sign of the redemptive power of divine mercy.

The Jubilee of 2025 will thus be a time of reconciliation and renewal, an invitation for everyone to rediscover the profound meaning of Christian hope. As Pope Francis said: "In this holy time, let us be touched by the transforming power of God's grace. It will be a journey of conversion, but also a joyful celebration of His infinite love."
