The Congregation of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Mary, founded in Dakar on May 24, 1858, recently held the sessions of its General Chapter, a significant event in the life of the community, inspired by the Holy Spirit, under the theme: “Pilgrims of Hope with Mary, Let Us Walk Together, Announcing the Gospel of Creation for Integral and Sustainable Development.”

New Elections

On August 9, 2024, the members of the Congregation had the honor of electing a new leadership team, bringing a breath of renewal and inspiration.

Following the elections, the new General Council is composed as follows:

• Sister Maria Segunda Barbosa PEREIRA, General Assistant
• Sister Madeleine Marie NDOUR, General Counselor
• Sister Gilberte Marie MANGA, General Counselor
• Sister Monique Marie Yandé NDONG, General Counselor

We entrust the Congregation to the maternal prayer of the Blessed Virgin Mary. May she help everyone to “walk together” and to work for integral and sustainable human development!
