Message from Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime to the Superiors General

Good morning, dear sisters, Superiors General, members of the Councils, and to all your communities.

I have just arrived a few minutes ago at this international meeting of Superiors General, and I have been asked to extend a greeting to you. I do so with great pleasure.

Let me introduce myself: I am Ángel Fernández Artime, Cardinal, and since January 6, I have been the Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life. This is a service that I take on with a deep desire to serve and collaborate, alongside the Prefect of the Dicastery.

We are here together to meet and greet many of our dear Superiors. I take this opportunity to express my absolute availability and my desire to collaborate and walk together.

In this Jubilee Year, which invites us to hope, I remind you that the hope that comes from God never disappoints. I would also like to share a deep conviction. As a consecrated religious, a Salesian of Don Bosco, I can affirm that consecrated life is fascinating. It continues to be a testimony of beauty and a call to a path of following Christ, despite the challenges of our time.

I feel in my heart the desire to build together a path that will allow us to transmit the enthusiasm for this vocation that has captivated us and represents our first love.

I greet you with sincere affection, assuring you of my prayers. I am grateful for this valuable opportunity to meet and introduce myself.

God bless you. See you soon!
With affection.
