A Milestone of Hope: Establishing the Catholic Care for Children Philippines Network

On January 10, 2025, UISG-Catholic Care for Children International (CCCI) celebrated a monumental achievement with the successful establishment of the UISG-Catholic Care for Children in the Philippines (CCCP) network. This significant milestone marks a renewed commitment to advancing pastoral care for children and families, ushering in a hopeful new chapter in our mission.

This accomplishment was made possible through the dedication of 43 religious sisters from 26 congregations who successfully completed the enriching three-month online course, Moving Towards Family Solutions. The program culminated in an engaging three-day face-to-face workshop held from January 6–10, 2025, at the St. Pius XII Center in Manila. Facilitated by CAFO staff member Dalia Mena and program alumni, the workshop fostered lively discussions and collaboration, equipping participants with practical strategies to enhance family-based childcare solutions.

A highlight of the workshop was the participation of key officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Philippines. Their presence enriched the dialogue, providing critical insights into social policy updates and opportunities for collaboration to strengthen the shared mission of family-based care.

The newly established CCCP network spans four regions: the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Each region is guided by a regional coordinator who, along with the Country Coordinator and Secretary, forms the Core Group of the network.

The workshop concluded with a heartfelt graduation ceremony, celebrating the dedication and achievements of the participants. The evening was filled with joy, laughter, and a strong sense of community, reflecting the collective commitment to transforming the lives of children and families across the Philippines. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who contributed to making the dream of the CCCP network a reality. Together, we move forward with renewed hope and determination to continue our vital mission.
